Summer Exclusive: 'Hotel as a Classroom' – Experiential Stay Program in Okinawa for School Projects

EM Wellness Lifestyle Resort, located in Kitanakagusuku, Okinawa, will host a summer-exclusive experiential program titled 'KIDS Summer School' in 2026, themed around the concept of 'the hotel becoming a classroom.' This initiative offers a variety of hands-on content for parents and children to enjoy and learn together, covering topics such as fermentation, food education, nature, craftsmanship, and environmental studies. It is designed to help children find themes for their independent research projects, proposing a new style of summer vacation that goes beyond mere play to include learning and discovery, catering to the growing demand for 'Learcation' (Learning + Vacation). In recent years, there has been an increasing need for family travel that provides educational value. With the rise of the 'Learcation' concept, which emphasizes learning outside the classroom, interest in content that allows for nature experiences, food education, and cultural learning during trips is growing. Our hotel, which focuses on 'fermentation,' 'wellness,' and 'sustainability,' is implementing this project to extend our philosophy to family experiences. The program runs from July 24 to August 29, 2026, and is exclusive to hotel guests. Activities include workshops on fermentation, stargazing, marine environment art, and nature-based crafts. Additionally, the 'KIDS Lounge' and 'KIDS Lab' provide spaces for children to explore, while parents can enjoy wellness facilities like the panoramic bath, sauna, and bedrock bath.
