Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Club is launching a new service that allows users to convert reward points earned from Diners Club and TRUST CLUB cards into JPYC, a yen-pegged stablecoin.

Starting June 1, 2026, customers can perform these exchanges using the 'HashPort Wallet,' a non-custodial wallet provided by HashPort, Inc.

This initiative, built in collaboration between the three companies, represents the first time in Japan that credit card points can be directly exchanged for a stablecoin.

As the world shifts towards Web3, the project aims to integrate credit cards, stablecoins, and non-custodial wallets to offer consumers new choices for economic activity.

The converted JPYC can be utilized for payments at physical stores and e-commerce sites, as well as for transaction and operation within Web3 services, and for instant, low-cost peer-to-peer transfers.

Note: As this service does not involve the settlement of point exchange amounts, it does not fall under the category of crypto-asset exchange or electronic payment instrument trading businesses.

To commemorate the launch, Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Club will hold a 'Point Back Campaign' from June 1 to November 30, 2026. - Diners Club Cards: 500 points back per 2,500 points to 1,000 JPYC exchange. - TRUST CLUB Cards: 500 points back per 4,000 points to 1,000 JPYC exchange. Rewards are scheduled for distribution in mid-January 2027.
