IMOM Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Naka-ku, Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture; President and CEO: Jun Wakayama) has implemented a base salary increase for all full-time employees following its highest profit since founding. This base salary adjustment, separate from regular annual raises, marks the third consecutive year. The company aims to create an organization where those who take on challenges are rewarded by continuously returning 8.4 million yen annually to employees and improving compensation based on roles and responsibilities.

Management Philosophy: Returning Profits as Investment in People

The company has focused on improving productivity through the active use of IT and AI to enhance operational efficiency and by maintaining low management costs. Under a business model where employment support, food service, and RPO (Recruitment Process Outsourcing) businesses mutually generate value, we have cultivated an environment where each employee can fully发挥 their role. These efforts have enabled sustainable business growth, culminating in the highest profit in the company's history.

We believe that rather than simply accumulating these results within the company, returning them to employees as 'investment in people'—to support sustained growth—will further enhance corporate value.

This salary adjustment is a tangible expression of gratitude to employees who support the company's daily growth, and a strategic initiative to build an organization where those who take on challenges are properly evaluated and motivated to pursue new roles.

Overview of the Third Consecutive Base Salary Increase

This marks the third consecutive year that a base salary increase has been implemented separately from regular annual raises.

This revision adopts a system where adjustments are not uniform but reflect roles and responsibilities. While management roles carry greater responsibility in organizational leadership and talent development, we are creating an environment for general staff that encourages them to take on new challenges, thereby promoting overall organizational growth.

Comment from President and CEO Jun Wakayama

We believe that despite playing an essential social role, the disability welfare sector faces an industry-wide challenge of stagnant wages. In fact, data shows that average monthly wages for disability welfare workers are approximately 80,000 JPY lower than the all-industry average, and this gap has widened in recent years. (※1)

We identify several underlying factors. First, inadequate evaluation systems and career paths make it difficult to properly reflect individual effort and growth in compensation. Second, remuneration is determined by government-set fixed prices, creating a revenue ceiling per facility. Furthermore, because prices are fixed, they do not automatically rise with market mechanisms such as inflation, making it difficult for wage funding to increase in line with rising living costs.

The food service industry, another key area we operate in, is also among the lowest-paid sectors across all industries. (※2) Therefore, to sustainably return value to staff, the company must grow through store expansion and new business development, thereby increasing the financial resources available for reinvestment. The food service business is not bound by fixed pricing and can grow in proportion to the value delivered to customers in the market. It also plays a crucial role in creating real employment opportunities within employment support programs while building a revenue base independent of fixed pricing.

This fiscal year, we achieved over 150% growth compared to the previous year, with the food service business showing steady expansion. This success is the cumulative result of each staff member fulfilling their role and engaging daily with users and customers.

The decision to set salary increases based on roles and responsibilities—not uniformly—stems from our HR policy of rewarding high-performing employees more generously. We aim to properly recognize the sincere efforts of every employee who gives their best in their respective roles.

※1 Estimate based on the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's 'Basic Survey on Wage Structure (2024)' (Disability welfare staff: approx. 308,000 JPY/month; All-industry average: approx. 386,000 JPY/month)

※2 Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare 'Reiwa 6 Basic Survey on Wage Structure': Accommodation and Food Services at approx. 270,000 JPY/month (lowest among major industry categories)

Future Outlook

IMOM Co., Ltd. views this salary adjustment not merely as an improvement in compensation, but as an 'investment in people' to accelerate the creation of an organization where every employee can confidently take on challenges and grow.

Going forward, we will further promote talent development and strengthen management systems, continuously nurturing employees who take on new roles, thereby enhancing the organizational foundation to support business expansion.

We aim to accelerate the virtuous cycle in which each employee's growth leads to enhanced value for users and customers, which in turn drives business growth—ultimately realizing our mission of 'creating a tolerant society where everyone can thrive.'
