"EdTech learning materials that make inquiry-based learning connected to the world easily available in the classroom" is the concept of Inspire High Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Representative: Taichi Sugiura), which will hold an online seminar for junior high and high school teachers on July 23 (Thu) to introduce the behind-the-scenes of inquiry-based learning that fosters the ability of high school students to turn their own questions into action and take a step forward.

Seminar Content

In inquiry-based classes, aren't there many teachers who want to know specific examples of how students find their own questions and become self-directed?

In this seminar, students and teachers from two schools will be invited to speak, sharing the "learning process" of students who have turned everyday "familiar discomforts" into questions and connected them to concrete actions, not just research, and the "behind-the-scenes of support" from the teachers' perspective.

We will hear about the practices of Okayama Gakugeikan High School, where students engage in self-directed inquiry during their one-year study abroad program, and Fukuyama Akatsuki no Hoshi Girls' Junior & Senior High School, which values inquiry that deepens questions based on interests and aims to foster students who "realize, nurture, and deliver their true desires."

This is an opportunity to gain hints from both the "results" and "processes" of inquiry-based learning. Please join us.

About Inspire High

Inspire High is a program that makes it easy to implement inquiry-based learning connected to the world in the classroom. It is widely used in junior high and high schools for classes such as "Comprehensive Inquiry Time," "Special Activities," "Moral Education," and "Civics," as well as for each school's unique career education and SDGs education.

Inspire High exposes students to the diverse lifestyles, values, work, and social issues of creative adults from around the world. By challenging "unanswerable questions" posed each time, students develop "self-expression skills," and by sharing opinions and values with teenagers nationwide, they also cultivate "understanding of others."

In an unpredictable and uncertain era, with the revision of the new curriculum guidelines focusing on "the ability to live," the importance of 21st-century skills and non-cognitive skills for surviving the future is increasing. Inspire High provides opportunities to foster these necessary skills through interactive online programs, regardless of economic or geographical factors.

Program Examples:

"How can society be changed?" - Thinking with Audrey Tang, former Digital Minister of Taiwan

"What are words?" - Thinking with Shuntaro Tanikawa, poet

"What is identity?" - Thinking with a Maasai elder

"What is peace?" - Thinking with a UN staff member

"Is failure something to be feared?" - Thinking with a failure researcher

In addition, entrepreneurs, scientists, robot developers, fishermen, firefighters, film directors, fashion designers, and many others have participated.
