JCG Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Koto-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Junichi Matsumoto; hereinafter "our company") is pleased to announce that we will be planning and producing content for the "Inclusive Tech Festa 2026 ~Let's Play! Let's Create! Let's Connect!~" organized by Certified NPO Florence (Location: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Midori Akasaka; hereinafter "Florence") and Technotool Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Inagi-shi, Tokyo; President: Shintaro Shimada; hereinafter "Technotool").

What is "Inclusive Tech Festa"?

Inclusive Tech Festa is a technology experience and exchange event for children with physical disabilities and their families. This will be the third time the event is held, following the previous two years.

Approximately 60 families, including children with disabilities and those requiring medical care who often have limited opportunities for various experiences, are scheduled to participate. The venue will feature a variety of hands-on content related to games, creativity, and communication. We aim to create moments where children can find something they "want to try!" and turn it into "I did it!" through the power of technology.

Another feature is that the event is designed so that siblings, who often end up being caregivers, can also enjoy it together. It aims to create an inclusive space where children can play, learn, and interact together, regardless of disability, while creating summer vacation memories as a family.

Background of the Event

With the advancement of technology, there are increasing cases where individuals with severe physical disabilities can expand their social participation, including employment, by utilizing eye-tracking input and various switches*1. However, opportunities to receive support in selecting and using equipment tailored to each individual from professionals such as occupational therapists are still limited when applying this "inclusive technology" (hereinafter "inclusive tech") in daily life*2.

*1 Reference: "Work and Environment for People with Severe Disabilities ~Social Participation Utilizing Technology~" by Fumihito Ito, published in the August 2024 issue of "New Normalization" on the Japan Council on Disability Information System (DINF).

*2 Approximately 30% of participants in last year's event did not use ICT tools in their daily lives. Furthermore, among the post-event questionnaires (free response), 5 out of 18 responses (approximately 28%) praised the "thorough support provided by occupational therapists for each individual."

Florence and Technotool, focusing on the "potential of inclusive tech to broaden children's worlds," have held the "Para e-Sports Festa" experience event in 2024 and 2025. In this event, commercially available games popular among children (e-sports) are positioned as an entry point for familiarizing themselves with technology. Transforming games, which children often only "watch others play," into an experience where they can "play as a player themselves" becomes a significant catalyst for children to proactively engage with technology.

In fact, according to the participant survey from last year's event, 88.9% (8/9 children) responded that inclusive tech would "increase what they can do," and 100% (9/9 children) responded that they "want to use it at home." Additionally, 94.4% (17/18 families) responded that it would "broaden their child's possibilities" and that they "want to incorporate it at home," demonstrating that many people have realized its potential.

On the other hand, feedback from participating families included requests to "know how to use it for things other than games," and desires to "write text and draw pictures," and "create and sell works, or play music." In response to these voices, the scope of experiences will be further expanded this year. The event will also be updated to be an event where siblings, who usually tend to be caregivers, can enjoy it together as participants.

Three Features of "Inclusive Tech Festa 2026"

1 Participant numbers doubled from last year! Technology experiences delivered to a total of 60 families

Expanding from 30 families last year, this year's event will target 60 families (30 families per session), providing more families with opportunities to engage with inclusive tech. The number of applications exceeding the recruitment capacity indicates a high demand for technology experiences among families with children with disabilities.

2 From games to creation and daily life! Connecting technology utilization to everyday life

In addition to game experiences, the scope will be expanded to include practical daily life applications such as drawing and playing musical instruments using tablets, creating items with 3D printers, and operating home appliances.

Occupational therapists will be available on the day to provide individual support, proposing technologies and usage methods tailored to each child. Opportunities will also be provided to consult with leading experts in assistive technology utilization, including Eiichi Tanaka (National Hospital Organization Hokkaido Medical Center), Daisaku Kobayashi (Representative Director, Astec Oko Co., Ltd.), and Akihiro Suzuki (Special Needs Education App Developer). Furthermore, a talk session with "seniors" who are utilizing inclusive tech in their daily lives and connecting it to employment is planned. The event will offer experiences that inspire ideas for everyday use.

3 Siblings included! An inclusive space to enjoy together, not just as companions

This event incorporates measures to ensure that siblings can participate as individuals, not just as companions.

They can participate in the experience content just like other participants, and cooperative play in games is possible by assigning functions of general controllers such as "A button" and "D-pad" to special switches, with each sibling taking charge of a function. They can also challenge themselves with competitive and cooperative play on a large screen stage.

An inclusive space will be created where everyone can "play and engage together," regardless of disability.
