East Japan Railway Company (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President: Yoichi Kise; hereinafter referred to as "JR East"), JR East Business Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President: Hidemaro Onishi; hereinafter referred to as "JR East Business"), and Nomura Securities Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Kentaro Okuda; hereinafter referred to as "Nomura Securities") have decided to undertake new initiatives to support asset building for employees within the JR East Group.
The JR East Group, as part of its Group Management Vision "Yusho 2034," has identified "Employee Engagement and Growth" as one of the "Five Engines for Growth." While reviewing its business operations, HR, and wage systems, the company has been focusing on expanding various employee welfare programs.
Moving forward, JR East Business, which is well-versed in the JR East Group's welfare programs, will accelerate initiatives towards "realizing the happiness of employees and their families" by supporting employees' utilization of these systems and their asset building, with the assistance of Nomura Securities, which has extensive experience in asset building through employment.
[Overview of Welfare Programs and Support Direction]
1. Group Employee Stock Ownership Plan
The JR East Group has aimed to enhance employee welfare and foster a sense of participation in management through the Group Employee Stock Ownership Plan. Moving forward, we will provide support to deepen understanding of the plan and enable employees to utilize it appropriately for mid-to-long-term asset building.
2. Workplace Savings NISA
This is a system for asset building through salary deductions utilizing NISA (Nippon Individual Savings Account). To help employees leverage tax benefits and build assets for the future, we will expand information provision and educational opportunities regarding the system's features and how to use it.
3. Financial and Economic Education
We will support each employee in correctly understanding the various welfare programs and making choices that suit them. Specifically, through JR East Business, we will promote financial and economic education throughout the JR East Group by holding seminars and individual consultations tailored to different purposes and age groups, thereby aiming for employees to acquire financial literacy.
By promoting asset building support for employees as part of employee welfare, we will realize the "financial wellness" of each individual employee, and consequently, the "happiness of employees and their families."
