The event "LaLaport Ebina Presents Yukide Asobina," which brings natural snow from Yamakoshi, Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture to Ebina City, Kanagawa Prefecture, to deliver midsummer snow play to children, has been decided to be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026. This event, now in its 10th year, will feature an even more enhanced lineup of booth areas.

Under the scorching sun, children's faces light up the moment they dive into a pure white snow mountain—this is the magic created when natural snow, which has survived the winter in the heavy snowfall region of Yamakoshi, Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture, arrives in Ebina in midsummer after a 250km journey. In the sweltering heat of late July, a refreshing "Snow Oasis" will appear again this year at the west exit of Ebina Station.

Started in 2014, "Yukide Asobina," a midsummer tradition in Ebina, is now in its 10th year. With snow play becoming a precious experience due to climate change, please enjoy this supremely cool, extraordinary experience of "playing in the snow in midsummer" with your whole family.

Where Did This Snow Come From? ~The Secret of Natural Snow Traveling 280km~

We use beautiful snow that fell in the Yamakoshi region of Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture, one of Japan's leading heavy snowfall areas.

"Yukimuro" (snow storage room): Using ancient wisdom without electricity, we carefully store natural snow until summer.

Snow that is discarded in winter becomes a treasure that brings smiles to everyone in the summer. This event is an eco-friendly initiative to reconsider the precious resource that the snow country and Japan are proud of to the world. *Supervision: SnowBiz Co., Ltd.

What is "Yukide Asobina" ~We Want to Convey the Joy of Playing in the Snow to Many Children~

More than half of Japan's land is a heavy snowfall region, and its snow quality is a precious resource loved worldwide as "JAPOW." In the past, even in the Tokyo metropolitan area, people could regularly experience snow in winter, which fostered aspirations for winter resorts. However, due to the serious impact of global warming, snow is becoming a distant presence for children in the Tokyo metropolitan area.

Since 2014, Yukide Asobina has been held as an event to deliver natural snow to Ebina in midsummer, finding new value in Japan's resource, snow.

This project is not just entertainment but also has the following three important significances:

Solution for Heatwaves: In response to recent record-breaking heat, we provide "coolness" and "extraordinary healing" through natural snow, without relying on electrical energy.

Sustainable Resource Utilization: By utilizing natural snow stored in "Yukimuro," it is a sustainable initiative that returns the potential of snow to society while reducing environmental impact.

Resolving the Experience Gap for the Next Generation: We convey the "joy of playing outdoors" to children in urban areas and spark their interest in Japan's rich snow resorts, which are only a few hours away.

With the belief of "turning Japan's resource, snow, into a midsummer extraordinary experience," we aim to create new value for snow and connect it to Japan's future.
