Honjo City, Saitama Prefecture (Mayor Shinkai Yoshida), in collaboration with the Kokoro Balance Research Institute (Representative Director Kyoko Shimada), has produced 'WellnessDiary,' a planner designed to support parenting households in their daily lives. Planning and publishing were handled by NOLTY Planners (President Hajime Hosono). The planner is provided free of charge to families in Honjo City who submit birth registrations as of May 2026, either at the time of submission or during baby home visits.
Following a regular press conference held by Mayor Shinkai Yoshida at Honjo City Hall on May 26, 2026, the official release was announced. This marks the birth of Japan's first municipal 'preventive medicine through writing' planner.
Handwriting provides brain stimulation not found in typing, believed to promote memory retention, emotional organization, and deepening of thought. NOLTY Planners has implemented a mechanism that enables continuous daily wellness tracking by combining this 'power of handwriting' with 'habitual design.'
Key features include content based on scientific evidence such as cognitive behavioral therapy and interpersonal therapy, along with self-care columns and activities. Users can also access additional web content via QR codes. There are no rules on how to use it, and it is designed for use at each individual's own pace.
