Manalink, an online tutoring matching platform (operated by NoSchool Inc.), has released its "Lesson Visualization Feature," which automatically organizes and visualizes lesson content based on AI analysis of lesson audio.
A New Learning Experience Visualized by AI
The Structural Challenge in the Education Industry: "Lessons are a Black Box"
Despite receiving lessons every week and paying tuition fees, what happens during lessons has historically remained solely between the teacher and the student.
This structure persists in many educational services even today.
Lack of information causes anxiety for parents, teachers' efforts are not properly recognized, and students move on with a "sense of understanding" without truly grasping the material. The opacity of lessons was a problem that needed to be resolved for all three parties: teachers, parents, and students.
Challenges Faced by Teachers: Even with full effort in lessons, the process cannot be fully conveyed to families.
During lessons, there are many moments where teachers adjust their tone based on student reactions, offer support during struggles, and facilitate moments of deeper understanding. However, conveying all of this in a weekly lesson report is not easy. While it's possible to write down "what was covered," trying to describe "how understanding progressed" in writing takes time for report creation. This time could ideally be spent on preparing for the next lesson or following up with individual students.
During lessons, teachers often adapt explanations based on student comprehension and change teaching methods according to difficulties. However, this level of detail and enthusiasm could not be fully captured within the limited format of a lesson report and was not adequately conveyed to families.
Challenges Faced by Parents and Students: Trust in teachers and children, yet anxiety about the unseen remains.
With the increase in dual-income households, parents have less time than before to supervise their children's studies. Furthermore, while parents might be able to observe lessons when children are young, as they enter adolescence, children may feel a desire for privacy, naturally distancing parents from the learning environment.
"I trust the teacher. I know my child is working hard. Still, the anxiety about not seeing the lesson content remains."
It's difficult to grasp what is being learned in lessons.
I can't confirm if my child truly understands.
All I can ask is, "How was it today?"
This lack of a tangible connection, despite the desire to be involved, can sometimes lead to misunderstandings between parents and children.
There are also challenges for students. Some students are so focused on taking notes that they can't concentrate on the lesson itself, miss important points, or proceed with a "sense of understanding" without truly grasping the material. These situations can lead to a plateau in academic growth.
Feature Overview: AI analyzes lesson audio and automatically generates three types of content.
Based on the audio from online lessons, the "Lesson Visualization Feature" automatically creates the following three items using AI:
1. AI-Generated Lesson Summary (Visualization Report): This report organizes lesson content based on teacher-student interactions and delivers it to parents. It visualizes not only "what was done" but also "how understanding progressed." Teachers can add their own supplementary notes to the AI-generated report before sending it, allowing for the convenience of automatic generation while still reflecting the teacher's instructional intent.

2. Comprehension Check Test: Five questions are automatically generated based on the key points of the lesson (generated within 5-10 minutes after the lesson ends). Designed to be answered in 10-30 seconds per question, this feature allows for immediate review to prevent a "sense of understanding" while minimizing the burden. Teachers can also edit and adjust the questions. Results are shared with both teachers and parents.
Comprehension Check Test
3. Lesson Review Summary: AI organizes the key points and important statements from the lesson and sends them to the student. This helps students know "where to start reviewing" after the lesson, making it easier to engage in self-study and review.

Features of This Function
Three functions based on visualization
This service, which automatically generates summaries, comprehension tests, and review materials from lesson audio using AI and delivers them to parents and students, is a first for the online tutoring industry. Over 100 teachers have already adopted this feature. (As of July 2026)
No additional charge
Families enrolled in Manalink can use this feature for free.
Uses audio only. No recording of faces or screens.
A bot participates in the lesson for recording and transcription, but it does not record the student's face or screen.
Conversations unrelated to the lesson are automatically cut.
Only "lesson content" is shared with parents. The AI is instructed to cut out casual conversation and discussions unrelated to the lesson, ensuring privacy.
Optional use and mutual consent system.
This feature is only active when both the teacher and the family enable the setting. It can be turned off at any time, and there is no mandatory usage.
Teachers who support this feature are easily identifiable.
Teachers who support the visualization feature will have a "Lesson Visualization Feature Supported" badge displayed, which can serve as a reference point for parents when choosing a teacher.

Representative's Comment
At NoSchool, we operate Manalink under the philosophy of "Creating a society where those who should be active can be active."
There are many teachers in the education field who sincerely and meticulously engage with students. In every lesson, they adjust their communication based on student reactions, offer support during difficulties, and collaboratively create moments of deeper understanding. However, we believe that the lack of a means to convey that meticulousness and effort to parents has been a challenge in the education industry until now.
The visualization feature is not for surveillance; it is designed to convey the teacher's "unseen efforts" to families and create an environment where parents can confidently engage in their children's learning.
Beyond the spread of this feature lies the world we aim to create: a world where the quality of a teacher's instruction is fairly recognized, and students are drawn to good teachers. Parents can feel at ease by seeing the lesson content and can engage concretely in their child's learning after understanding the material. Furthermore, based on accumulated data, education optimized for each child can be delivered. We believe that "lesson transparency" is the gateway to that world.
We will continue to improve towards a standard where lesson transparency becomes commonplace in the education industry.

Future Outlook
This "Lesson Visualization Feature" is the first step towards the educational transparency that Manalink aims to achieve.
Moving forward, based on the accumulation of lesson data, we are also developing features to visualize children's learning styles, tendencies in difficulties, and subject-specific comprehension levels, aiming to realize a learning experience optimized for each individual, going beyond just lesson transparency.
