Quollio Technologies Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Ryota Matsumoto; hereinafter 'Quollio'), which provides an integrated platform for managing enterprise metadata and semantics, announces that Infomart Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter 'Infomart'), operator of Japan's largest 'B2B platform' driving digitalization of intercompany ordering and invoicing, has adopted the 'Quollio Data Intelligence Cloud' (hereinafter 'QDIC') and has begun full-scale initiatives to promote enterprise-wide data utilization.
* Semantics: Refers to the meaning of terms used in business operations and the relationships between concepts.

Background and Objectives of Adoption
Infomart is advancing into a phase of creating new business value by leveraging the vast amount of transaction data accumulated over many years. Against the backdrop of rapid advancements in AI technology, the company has positioned 'advanced data utilization' as its next strategic goal. The Corporate Planning Department and the Data & AI Lab are collaborating to realize advanced AI services such as automated ordering systems, anomaly detection, and natural language-based data queries.
As a prerequisite for advancing this strategy, Infomart had been using various cloud tools for different business purposes, resulting in data silos. The company undertook a year-long project to migrate data to a data warehouse and consolidate data across the organization. By the end of 2025, significant progress had been made in data consolidation.
However, when attempting to fully scale enterprise-wide data and AI utilization, two new challenges emerged:
① Lack of data meaning (business metadata)
Even after system-level integration, data generated independently by each department lacked unified naming conventions and definitions. For example, even a simple 'date' field had multiple variations managed in an ad-hoc, person-dependent manner. Users struggled to understand the exact meaning of data fields and spent considerable time locating the right data.
② Accuracy limitations in AI utilization
Due to the lack of properly managed metadata, when AI systems were fed data for validation, they could not correctly interpret the data context or business rules, resulting in suboptimal accuracy in outputs.
In response to these challenges, Infomart recognized the necessity of moving beyond the 'data aggregation' phase to a new phase of 'making data usable for everyone' through proper classification and labeling. The company began seriously evaluating tools capable of capturing 'data lineage'—showing data origins and flows—and managing 'business metadata'—defining the meaning and purpose of data.
Primary Use Cases
Since adopting QDIC in February 2026, Infomart's data governance project has been progressing in real time. The company first established connectivity with its data warehouse and is now regularly extracting data to visualize areas with insufficient definitions. Efforts are underway to define and manage business rules—such as the calculation method for ARPU (Average Revenue Per User)—on the QDIC platform, which were previously documented only in code. The goal is to complete this process within the current year.
Currently, about eight members are involved, with plans to eventually include the development department. Initially, data will be provided to front-line departments such as sales and marketing, with the ultimate goal of building an environment where any authorized user can access the data they need at any time.
Key Factors in Selecting Quollio Data Intelligence Cloud
In selecting a metadata management tool, Infomart evaluated multiple products, including built-in catalog functions of data warehouses. Ultimately, QDIC was chosen for the following three decisive reasons:
● Alignment with developers' workflows
The ability for developers to attach metadata during table definition, along with ER (Entity-Relationship Diagram) diagram references, enables active adoption by engineering teams. Additionally, Quollio demonstrated a strong commitment to deeply understanding Infomart’s intentions and co-developing additional features.
● Cost-effectiveness and professional hands-on support
While foreign tools often require outsourcing implementation support to external SIs at high costs, Quollio offered attractive pricing for its hands-on support. Moreover, beyond just providing the tool, Quollio deployed data experts who directly supported the team and promptly resolved questions.
● High affinity with governance enhancement, including personal information protection
The ability to bridge compliance awareness gaps between departments—a critical challenge in enterprise-wide data utilization. By explicitly marking metadata such as 'this data is anonymized and requires caution,' even employees unfamiliar with legal regulations can intuitively understand handling precautions.
For this implementation, Infomart also adopted Quollio’s onboarding support service, 'Quollio INTEGRAL,' alongside the core QDIC platform. For Infomart, which is undertaking systematic metadata management for the first time, close support from data experts is an essential component.
Future Outlook
Infomart aims to establish a clear role division: AI will handle routine tasks and analyses, while humans focus on preparing the environment—managing metadata and unifying business rules—so that AI functions accurately. Ultimately, the company plans to achieve data-driven decision-making across the entire organization.
Comments from Infomart Co., Ltd.
Mr. Yohei Sekizuka, Head of Corporate Planning Department
'We’ve completed the phase of consolidating data in one place, but we’ve realized that to unleash AI’s full potential, it’s essential to properly classify and label data—making it usable by everyone. Quollio deeply understood our intentions and showed a willingness to co-develop new features with us. In the future, AI will handle routine tasks and analyses based on data, while humans shift toward managing metadata and unifying business rules. I hope this leads us toward data-driven decision-making.'
Mr. Shigeru Ishikura, Head of Data & AI Lab
'Our company considers intercompany transaction data as a core strength. To deliver data-driven services, we must ensure data quality. Quollio’s approach—providing not just a tool but direct support from data experts—is extremely reassuring for a company like ours, which is practicing systematic metadata management for the first time. We believe Quollio’s system will serve as a key assurance of data quality, and we trust Quollio, which possesses deep expertise in metadata business,
