RABO Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yuko Iyo; hereinafter "RABO"), which operates the services "Catlog" and "Pawlinq" exclusively for cats and dogs, is pleased to announce the implementation of a "Vomiting" function in the Catlog app. This update includes push notifications when the possibility of vomiting is detected, and displays vomiting records in the cat tab, cat diary, and graphs. Additionally, historical data of resting respiratory rate and body temperature changes can now be viewed in graphs.

From checking notifications while out to monitoring your cat's condition after returning home, sharing with family, and reviewing records for vet visits, the Catlog app will now support your vigilance for your cat's "might be unusual" moments.

Key Points of This Update

✔︎ Push notifications for potential vomiting. Vomiting records displayed in cat tab, cat diary, and graphs.

✔︎ History of "resting respiratory rate and body temperature changes" now viewable in graphs.

✔︎ "Vomiting" and "Resting Respiratory Rate and Body Temperature Changes" added to the "Veterinary Visit Report" items.

Cats and Vomiting

Cats are said to be animals prone to vomiting due to various factors such as hairballs, overeating, food allergies, gastrointestinal upset, and parasitic infections. If vomiting occurs frequently or is accompanied by other symptoms (such as lethargy, loss of appetite, weight loss, etc.), it is highly likely that there is an underlying health issue, making it important to regularly monitor the frequency of vomiting and consult with a veterinarian. In particular, vomiting containing blood, dark-colored vomit, or repeated vomiting may require urgent medical intervention. Many owners have likely experienced discovering evidence of their cat vomiting upon returning home or by chance under a bed.

◼︎ Immediate notification of vomiting detection. Predict "which cat vomited" even in multi-cat households! Vomiting records displayed in cat tab, cat diary, and graphs for easier daily change monitoring.

Catlog has previously offered a function where AI detects the possibility of vomiting from behavioral data acquired by its collar-type device. With this latest update, when behavior suggestive of vomiting is detected, owners will receive a push notification on their smartphone, and the record will be displayed in the cat tab, cat diary, and graphs. This allows for immediate confirmation upon receiving the notification or for later review, alongside daily activity records. Furthermore, in multi-cat households, it is possible to predict which cat may have vomited. Vomiting records from users who have been using the vomiting detection function will be carried over as past data. Data subject to migration includes vomiting data for which a correct answer (◯) was provided, and manually added vomiting data.

Previously, vomiting incidents were often discovered only after returning home or were missed entirely. With this update, push notifications will be sent if vomiting is suspected, even while you are out or asleep, allowing you to be aware of it immediately and understand "when it happened" and "which cat vomited." Upon receiving a notification, you can take prompt action, such as asking cohabitants to check on the cat's condition or inspecting the cat and its surroundings for signs of vomiting upon your return.

The cat diary allows you to leave memos about the state of the vomit, appetite, energy levels, and any concerning behaviors, which can be used as clues to explain the progression of symptoms during vet visits.

Additionally, by reviewing past trends in the cat diary and graphs, it becomes easier to notice changes such as "vomiting might be increasing recently" or "vomiting might be more likely after meals." Vomiting, which can easily be overlooked as an isolated event, can be more effectively utilized for home monitoring and determining when to consult a veterinarian by placing it alongside daily records.

◼︎ Resting respiratory rate and body temperature change history now viewable in graphs. Grasp normal trends and more easily notice signs of health changes.

Catlog allows you to view not only your cat's behavior but also information regarding vital signs such as resting respiratory rate and body temperature changes. With this update, the history of these metrics is now displayed in graphs, allowing you to review not only daily values but also trends over a period of time.

Your cat's condition changes subtly day by day. By reviewing historical data in graphs, owners can more easily gain insights such as "What is the normal resting respiratory rate?" or "The trend of body temperature changes seems different than usual lately." By understanding normal trends, it becomes easier to compare with "the usual state" when you are concerned about your cat's health, providing clues to objectively grasp the magnitude and trend of changes.

Insights gained from daily records enrich daily care and facilitate smoother communication with veterinarians, contributing to the ongoing well-being of your cat. Catlog will continue to support owners in recognizing their beloved cat's "might be unusual" moments.

◼︎ Veterinary Visit Report now includes vital signs and vomiting records. More easily convey your cat's "unusual" signs to the veterinarian.

Catlog's Veterinary Visit Report is a feature that allows you to easily and quantitatively convey your cat's condition and any abnormalities to your veterinarian using Catlog data during vet visits. It allows you to share recent symptoms, changes in condition, and owner concerns, and has previously included report items such as "Recent Condition and Concerns," "Applicable Symptoms," and "Most Concerning Data."

With this update, "Resting Respiratory Rate and Body Temperature Changes" and "Vomiting" are newly added to the Veterinary Visit Report items. By compiling daily vomiting records and vital sign trends into a report when visiting the vet, it can serve as a valuable tool for quantitatively conveying the owner's observations to the veterinarian.

*This feature is available from the latest app versions (iOS 5.13.0 and Android OS 5.13.0). There may be a time lag in app distribution.
