Sowaka Japan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Wataru Matsuda; hereinafter "Sowaka Japan") will begin a trial introduction of "MisePay," a payment acceptance app for stores compatible with the Japanese yen-stablecoin JPYC, at three stores in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, and one store in Nagoya-shi, Aichi Prefecture, starting in July 2026.

MisePay is an app that allows stores to accept payments via JPYC. The settlement fee paid by member stores to MisePay is 0%, and the introduction cost is 0 yen. It can be introduced using QR codes without the need for dedicated payment terminals.

In this trial, in addition to in-store payment acceptance, a series of operations necessary for physical stores, such as store-side operations for cancellations and refunds, history management, and operational flow by on-site staff, will be verified.

Sowaka Japan will reflect opinions and operational challenges obtained from the three stores into the service and proceed with improvements toward official release. Concurrently, we will begin recruiting additional member stores to participate in the trial.

What is MisePay

MisePay is a payment acceptance app for stores that allows physical stores to accept QR payments via JPYC.

Through MisePay, member stores can generate QR codes for payment, confirm payment information, manage history, manage the store, and handle refunds. Paying users read the QR code displayed or presented at the store with a compatible wallet and pay JPYC they hold to the store's designated wallet.

Sowaka Japan and MisePay do not hold user or member store stablecoins or other assets. Furthermore, we do not issue, redeem, buy, sell, exchange, or manage stablecoins; we provide the technical functions for stores to accept payments by stablecoins, as well as introduction and operational support.

Secure on-site operation of refund operations without granting administrator privileges

Payment in physical stores requires not only payment acceptance but also responses tailored to daily operations, such as order changes, cancellations, refunds, and confirmation of payment history.

MisePay is equipped with a refund privilege management function utilizing smart account technology. On-site staff are granted only the necessary privileges for refunds, and administrator privileges that allow free movement of store funds are not granted. Refund privileges can be set with conditions such as by store, by person in charge, or with an upper limit amount, and it is possible to confirm who, when, and how much was refunded as history.

This builds an environment where refunds can be processed quickly on-site without waiting for administrator action for every refund, while protecting store asset management privileges.

Main Features of MisePay

1. Compatible with QR payments via JPYC

The initial supported currency is JPYC. Stores can accept payments via JPYC using QR codes.

2. 0% settlement fee for member stores to pay MisePay

No settlement fees are incurred by member stores to MisePay. This is a system that allows stores to try stablecoin payments without the burden of fees.

3. 0 yen introduction cost / No dedicated terminal required

The introduction cost for MisePay is 0 yen. It does not require a dedicated payment terminal and can be introduced using smartphones and QR codes, making it suitable for a wide range of physical stores such as restaurants, retail stores, and service stores.

4. Provides payment confirmation and history management functions for stores

Member stores can confirm payment information, payment history, and manage their stores through MisePay, which can be used for daily accounting tasks.

5. Refund privileges can be set in detail

Only the necessary privileges for refunds can be granted to on-site staff without giving them administrator privileges for the store wallet. In the trial, we will verify privilege settings, refund operations, and history confirmation according to the operational needs of each store.

6. Sowaka Japan supports the start of store usage

We provide the necessary introduction and operational support for physical stores to use MisePay, including initial setup, explanation to staff, and support after operations begin.

In-store verification at 3 stores in Tokyo and Nagoya

MisePay will begin a trial introduction at three stores with different business types and usage scenarios starting July 8, 2026.

Representative's Comment

Sowaka Japan Co., Ltd.

Representative Director Wataru Matsuda

For stablecoins to be used for everyday payments, it is not enough to simply increase the number of stores where they can be used. A system is needed that stores can introduce without difficulty, on-site staff can operate without confusion, and that can be incorporated into daily operations, including refunds and history checks.

MisePay is a service to make QR payments via JPYC easy to use in physical stores. First, through trial introduction, we will build a payment experience that is easy to understand for both stores and users and is rooted in the field.
