STARRYWORKS Co., Ltd. (Location: Chuo-ku, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, Representative Director: Koji Kimura, hereinafter STARRYWORKS) will hold "Hikaru Oto Ten," an exhibition of various interactive installation works, in commemoration of its 20th anniversary. The exhibition will be held in Osaka in October 2026 and in Tokyo in November 2026.
Exhibition Overview
"Hikaru Oto Ten" will feature installation works of light and sound with the theme of "synchronization of sight and hearing." This is the first exhibition of its kind in 13 years, since the 7th anniversary exhibition "DANCE" in 2013, and will include not only past works but also several new works to be unveiled for the first time at this exhibition.
All works are composed of sound, digital technology, and physical phenomena. By spreading light and shadows that change in synchronization with sound throughout the entire space, visitors can experience sound more three-dimensionally and immersively.
For STARRYWORKS, which has continued to create works by moving between digital and physical realms, this exhibition is also a culmination of its 20 years of activity.
Unlike video expressions confined to a screen, this exhibition is designed to encompass the entire space, allowing visitors to experience the synchronization of sight and hearing with their whole bodies. Please enjoy the exhibition.
Exhibited Works
LUMEN
An interactive installation where light that flickers and changes in synchronization with rhythm is infinitely reflected in a space equipped with mirrors. In a room of mirrors using LED displays and half-mirrors, visitors can experience the sensation of being "inside" sound and light.
RAY
An installation that constructs a space through the contrast of light and shadow, starting with a single bonsai tree. The organically spreading branches and leaves have infinite expressions depending on the viewpoint. This work expresses that viewpoint in the form of shadows and structures it as an experience with a time axis along with sound.
Several other new interactive works are scheduled to be exhibited.
