Tokyo Tower's Summer Tradition: 'Milky Way Illumination 2026' Starts June 12th!

Themed after the Tanabata legend of Orihime and Hikoboshi, countless LED bulbs represent 'myriad stars' twinkling in the night sky and the gently flowing 'Milky Way,' with 'shooting stars' occasionally appearing to complete the starry vista. This year, the lights will shine daily from June 12 (Fri) to September 27 (Sun), offering a cool, luminous ambiance to enjoy summer's charm.

As night approaches, the lights reflected in the window glass blend seamlessly into the real night view, creating a fascinating effect. A world of sparkling stars expands over Tokyo as if a real Milky Way has appeared in the sky.

Visitors can also enjoy a colorful illumination show where the 'starry sky' slowly changes color every 15 minutes into a 7-colored 'Rainbow Milky Way.'
