TOKYO TOWER Co., Ltd. (Shibakoen, Minato-ku, Tokyo: President Noboru Maeda) launched its in-house 'Beekeeping Project' in spring 2023, aiming to harvest honey from beehives maintained on its premises and develop it into commercial products. The company has now successfully commercialized its first honey beer, 'TOKYO TOWER GOLDEN HONEY ALE,' which went on sale in May 2026. The initial batch of 700 bottles sold out completely, prompting an immediate decision to increase production.

Since spring 2023, Tokyo Tower has launched the 'Beekeeping Project'—an employee-led initiative to raise Western honeybees on its premises, leveraging its location adjacent to 'Shiba Park,' a green oasis in the heart of the city.

All project members were first-time beekeepers, learning through trial and error. After three years, they have confirmed that honey can be harvested at a stable level each year.

The honey, named 'Tower Honey,' is a wildflower honey collected by bees from various plants in Shiba Park. Its aroma and color change with the seasons, offering a delicious way to experience the natural rhythms of the city.

First Commercial Product: 'TOKYO TOWER GOLDEN HONEY ALE'

Bees live right beside us and play a vital role as pollinators for fruits and vegetables, directly supporting our food system. The project team wanted to raise awareness about these essential allies of nature and share the precious gifts they provide—even in the city. With this mission, they developed products using the harvested honey.

The first product is a craft beer, 'TOKYO TOWER GOLDEN HONEY ALE,' made with generous amounts of Tower Honey. It features a smooth, mellow taste, with the richness of honey perfectly balanced by a gentle bitterness.

The volume is 333 milliliters—chosen to match the height of Tokyo Tower at 333 meters.

The original label design was created by employees.

The beer is sold at official shops inside Tokyo Tower. After the initial batch of 700 bottles sold out faster than expected following its May 2026 launch, the company has urgently decided to increase production ahead of the summer vacation season.

Perfect as a souvenir, or to enjoy at the observation deck—savor the view of Tokyo while imagining the feeling of bees freely flying through the open sky.
