"I've Lost Count of How Many Times..." Reiko Kosugi Talks About Her Love for the Self-Defense Forces at the JMSDF "Yokosuka Vehicle Festival 2026"

Reiko Kosugi, who works as a model and talent, appeared at the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) event "Yokosuka YY Norimono Festa 2026" held on May 30 and 31.

This event, themed around "vehicles," features ship and vehicle displays and is a popular annual event that draws many visitors.

Kosugi was appointed as the honorary captain for one day of the destroyer "Murasame" and the special service ship "Hashidate." She appeared in a pants-style uniform for the first time, adding to the event's appeal.

In her inaugural address, she expressed her enthusiasm as the honorary captain, stating, "I will do my utmost to be of service to the people of Yokosuka who are dedicated to their duties day and night." She also sincerely called for understanding and support for the Self-Defense Forces from the attendees.

During a talk show held on May 30, she said, "The trigger for my interest in the Self-Defense Forces was seeing the many ships and equipment at a fleet review my parents took me to when I was little." She also expressed her love for the forces, saying, "I've attended the music corps' concerts so many times I've lost count."

At the venue, she enjoyed the JMSDF's impressive ship displays and various events while interacting with visitors. She enlivened the event with a constant smile, drawing the attention of many attendees. Expectations are high for Reiko Kosugi's future activities.
