UNFIELD LAB Inc. (headquarters: Tokyo, CEO: Yasuaki Ichikawa) and Shachihata Inc. (headquarters: Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, President: Seigo Funabashi) have entered into a capital and business alliance to promote the social implementation and commercialization of next-generation sensing technology.

As part of this alliance, a third-party allocation of new shares was conducted with Shachihata Inc. as the underwriter. Additionally, in collaboration with Shachihata Engineering Co., Ltd., a Shachihata Group company, they will advance the development of a mass production system for next-generation sensing products.

In recent years, the environment surrounding power infrastructure has undergone significant changes due to the rapid expansion of data center demand driven by AI proliferation, the increased adoption of renewable energy, the spread of battery energy storage systems (BESS), and the development of EV charging infrastructure. These facilities are seeing increased use of direct current (DC) high power, and there is a growing need for technologies that can detect abnormal currents and leakage early with high precision to ensure stable operation, improved safety, and higher efficiency.

However, conventional current sensors have had issues where the baseline measurement value shifts (offset) after a large current flows, affecting the detection accuracy of minute abnormal currents and leakage. As equipment becomes larger and more powerful, sensing technologies with higher reliability are required.

UNFIELDLAB aims to solve this problem by developing its proprietary core technology "GAUSS CORE," which does not generate the offset fluctuations that are problematic in conventional current sensors. This technology enables stable measurement performance even under high-current environments while detecting minute abnormal currents and leakage, advancing the practical application of next-generation sensing.

Furthermore, GAUSS CORE can be applied not only to current sensing but also to high-sensitivity magnetic sensing, and is expected to be utilized in a wide range of fields including power infrastructure, industrial equipment, infrastructure maintenance, and marine sectors.

Furthermore, Shachihata Engineering Co., Ltd. will participate as a manufacturing partner, utilizing its long-cultivated precision processing technology, production technology, and quality assurance know-how to provide technical support and build a manufacturing system for mass production of next-generation sensing products leveraging UNFIELDLAB's technology. By collaborating with a view from prototype development to mass production, they aim to bring high-quality, highly reliable products to market.

Going forward, the two companies will promote demonstration and commercialization in the following areas: - Power monitoring systems for data centers - Condition monitoring and safety management of battery energy storage systems (BESS) - Leakage monitoring for EV charging equipment - Anomaly detection for renewable energy equipment - Preventive maintenance systems for industrial equipment - Landmine detection using high-sensitivity magnetic sensing technology - Utilization of sensing technology in marine and underwater fields

In the future, they plan to expand into a wide range of fields beyond power and energy, including social infrastructure, disaster prevention, marine, and industrial equipment.

The Shachihata Group and UNFIELDLAB will work to realize safe and sustainable social infrastructure and create new industrial value through the social implementation of advanced sensing technology.
