What is "Kurashiki Goldfish Museum ~Yokai Hyakkin-gyo Yako ~"?

"Yokai Hyakkin-gyo Yako" is a story-based aquarium that unfolds a mysterious and vibrant narrative woven by a diverse array of colorful goldfish, set during a single night from midnight to dawn. Under a worldview that reinterprets "Hyakki Yako" (night parade of one hundred demons) with goldfish, visitors join the goldfish's night parade after people have gone to sleep, pass through a lively and mysterious night festival, and are eventually guided to a quiet sunrise. The exhibition is structured to follow a single narrative through six spaces where the colors of the four seasons change within one night.

【Ushimitsu Doki: Hyakkin-gyo Night Festival】

The main zone, designed with the concept of a goldfish night festival and a bustling town, creating a space where the urban night and the fervor of a festival intersect.

A fantastical exhibition unfolds as the main street where goldfish swim amidst the clamor. The main tank, themed around "Oni" (demons) by GAKYO MIYAZAWA, draws visitors into an extraordinary world with its powerful presence, as if about to bare its fangs and attack.

【Tiger Hour: After the Festival】

A quiet space evoking the melancholy of autumn, after the hustle and bustle of the festival has subsided.

Experience the collaboration of gold and water, inspired by autumn.

【Dawn Seven: Between Moon and Sun】

With the concept of dawn, this space features shimmering silver water, allowing visitors to experience the lingering emotions of the story's conclusion while feeling the gradation of light and shadow woven by the sunrise.

Expressing the final stage of the yokai goldfish's journey with the theme of morning light.

Goldfish are exhibited in their original forms, creating a space where the lingering feelings of the story can be felt. It offers visitors a gentle and relaxing moment.
