Hamamatsu Photonics has established a local subsidiary, 'HAMAMATSU PHOTONICS ASIA PACIFIC Pte. Ltd.,' in Singapore to strengthen its business foundation in the Southeast Asian market. Operations are scheduled to commence in October 2026.
Southeast Asian markets are expected to see stable economic growth, driven by population growth and an expanding middle-class demographic in various countries. Furthermore, with the advancement of industries, particularly in manufacturing, and the evolution of supply chains, the region is gaining global importance. Viewing this market environment as a medium-to-long-term growth opportunity, we have established this local entity to expand our market share in Southeast Asia and respond to increasingly sophisticated customer needs.
Previously, we built our sales and logistics systems in Southeast Asia through our Western subsidiaries. By establishing this new base, we aim to consolidate logistics functions in the region and gradually transition to a sales and logistics framework centered on this new hub. This will enable us to enhance cost competitiveness, reduce lead times, and further improve customer satisfaction.
Moving forward, we will use this subsidiary as a starting point to optimize our supply chain and service framework across the entire Southeast Asian region. In the future, we plan to expand its functions in accordance with market growth to further strengthen our global competitiveness.
