Setouchi City Announces "Open Creation" Declaration and New Proposal System Reviewed by the Mayor

Setouchi City in Okayama Prefecture is promoting urban development based on "co-creation" with private businesses, universities, and local organizations to address challenges like population decline and aging public facilities. The city has issued the "Setouchi City Open Creation Public-Private Co-creation Declaration." Under the new system, the mayor will personally review all proposals submitted by companies and individuals nationwide, and those that pass the screening will have the opportunity to present directly to the mayor. The system covers themes such as housing development, public transport, and DX, with operations starting on June 1, 2026.
