NPO Yu-Support will hold a study session called 'Yusapo Study Session' at the Joyo City Welfare Center on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, for those engaged in disability welfare or those aspiring to enter the field of welfare. Currently, there are various disability welfare services such as employment support and residential support, but many of these did not exist just 20 years ago. 'Why and against what background were these services created?' Knowing the answer is extremely important for reaffirming the social mission and role of the support we provide every day. Therefore, this time, we will welcome Associate Professor Shunsuke Hirono of the Faculty of Sociology at Doshisha University, a leading expert in the history of the postwar disability movement and life history research of the parties concerned, as a lecturer. We will look back on the turbulent history of Japanese disability welfare from 'measures to contracts,' and provide a place where staff working in the field can deeply learn the 'origin of their services' and increase their pride and motivation for practice from tomorrow. Date and time: Wednesday, July 15, 2026, 9:50-12:10. Location: Joyo City Welfare Center 1F Hall. Participation fee: 1,000 yen. If you wish to participate, please fill out the application form and apply by email attachment or fax.
