An Event Program Enabling Teens Facing Loneliness and Isolation to Take Their First Step into the Real World

Project Details

Teenagers experiencing loneliness and isolation gather on our online bulletin board. Through 'Ura ○○ no Hi' (Retro ○○ Day), we conduct creative activities both online and offline aligned with seasonal events to provide emotional care and alleviate feelings of loneliness.

Furthermore, through 'Action Day,' participants collectively commit to taking a step into the real world by promising to consult with school counselors or child consultation centers.

We aim to build a system that reconnects children and youth—previously unable to access existing support systems or safe spaces—back into the real world.

Comment from President Haruka Okumura upon Selection

Social issues concerning children, such as suicide and abuse, are increasing. While young people have always faced difficulties, a defining characteristic of today is the high tendency toward self-blame and social isolation.

We exist as 'Daisan Kazoku'—the Third Family—to ensure that no adolescent struggling with 'I can't go on' is left alone until they can believe 'It's going to be okay.'

As a third party, we support youth with a stance of 'non-intrusive support,' helping them find a sense of belonging outside their immediate family (the First Family) or local community (the Second Family).

Organization Overview

Daisan Kazoku is an NPO that provides 'non-intrusive support' to adolescents who fall through the cracks of conventional support systems.

We act as a third party to help these vulnerable youth shift their mindset from 'I can't go on' to 'It's going to be okay.'
