Meet Refugees and Immigrants, Interview, and Write. Become a 'Citizen Journalist' This Summer. Zoom Briefings on 5/28, 6/16, and 7/5

The NGO Development Media (ganas) is hosting the "Global Media Camp" (GMC), an immersive journalism program where participants travel abroad to interview locals and write articles. Unlike typical study tours, this is a participant-driven reporting program that has seen 217 participants across 47 sessions in 10 countries. This summer, camps will be held in Chiang Mai, Thailand (August 8-15) to cover stories of Myanmar refugees, and in São Paulo, Brazil (August 22-31) to interview Japanese immigrants. Free online briefing sessions via Zoom are scheduled for May 28, June 16, and July 5. The program teaches fundamental journalism skills while allowing participants to deeply understand personal stories behind global issues.
