LEGIKA, a non-profit organization specializing in manga production and IP producing, has taken charge of the manga production for the 5th anniversary project of the 'Shinjuku East Exit Cat', operated by Cross Space Inc. In this project, four manga artists will release original works based on the 'Shinjuku East Exit Cat' for four consecutive months. The works will be published sequentially on the official SNS of 'Cross Shinjuku Vision' and a special website. Since its debut in 2021, the 'Shinjuku East Exit Cat' has garnered attention from both Japan and abroad, becoming a beloved landmark of Shinjuku. To mark its 5th anniversary in July 2026, Cross Space Inc. planned this manga project as a new initiative to allow people to enjoy the charm of the cat from a different perspective than video. The project does not set rigid official settings, adopting a creative approach that utilizes the sensibilities of each participating artist. By depicting different expressions, daily lives, and future visions of the cat, the project aims to expand the image of the 'Shinjuku East Exit Cat' for each reader. Four artists were selected to match the world view and purpose of the project. The first work is by artist Gyakushu, a graduate of the 'Tokiwa-so Project' operated by LEGIKA, featuring unique humor and a perspective filled with love for cats. Participating artists for the second installment and beyond will be announced sequentially by Cross Space Inc. on the official website and SNS.
