"The day caregiving suddenly begins, are you prepared?" 1-year program for balancing work and care, "Caregiver Academy," to hold a free briefing on Thursday, June 4th.

NPO UPTREE (Location: Koganei City, Tokyo; Representative Director: Mieko Akutsu) will hold a free briefing on June 4, 2026, for the "Caregiver Academy," which begins on June 11, 2026. The "Caregiver Academy" is a one-year program themed around learning and preparing before caregiving begins. Participants can systematically learn "practical knowledge" not taught in school, such as balancing work and care, long-distance caregiving, and financial/institutional systems, with the help of experts. You can also participate in the briefing via ZOOM. One day, you receive a call from a medical institution: "Your mother has been rushed to the hospital" or "It may be difficult for her to live alone after discharge." Many people start caregiving without any preparation. The reality is that caregiving begins suddenly, not when you are ready. NPO UPTREE addresses the current situation where family caregivers are overwhelmed and unable to care for themselves. With the message that "caregiving requires prior knowledge," the organization will launch the "Caregiver Academy" in June 2026. Prior to the launch, a free briefing will be held on June 4 to introduce the program details.
