The National Archives of Japan is currently holding its first special exhibition for the 2026 fiscal year, "Wasshoi! Tenka Matsuri - Enjoy Edo Castle and the Sanno Matsuri Visually," until Saturday, June 20.
Period: June 9 (Tue) – June 20 (Sat), 2026 9:15 AM – 5:00 PM *Closed June 15 (Mon) **Admission free, no reservation required.
Venue: National Archives of Japan, Tokyo Main Building (3-2 Kitanomaru-koen, Chiyoda-ku), 1st Floor Exhibition Hall.
Exhibition Highlights: The theme is "Enjoy Visually." The exhibition features colored maps depicting Edo Castle, woodblock books capturing the hustle and bustle of the Sanno Matsuri, and original valuable documents such as the Important Cultural Property "Kobunroku."
Gallery Talks: Gallery talks explaining the exhibition highlights will be held at 2:30 PM (approx. 15 mins) on June 10 (Wed), 12 (Fri), 16 (Tue), and 18 (Thu).
Shuttle Bus: A free shuttle bus connecting the Chiyoda and Sumida areas will operate for three days from June 12 (Fri) to 14 (Sun).
