【Sayama City, Saitama Prefecture】Call for Entries Exhibition "43rd Sayama Citizens' Exhibition" Now Open Until June 30 (Tue)

From Friday, June 26, 2026 to Tuesday, June 30, 2026—five days in total—the Sayama City Community Center (1-3-1 Irakawagawa, Sayama City) will host the "43rd Sayama Citizens' Exhibition," organized by the Sayama City Community Centers Liaison Council (Chairperson: Kazushin Murakami). The exhibition aims to further promote civic culture and features 166 submitted works across six categories: Japanese painting, Western-style painting, calligraphy, sculpture, crafts, and photography.

In addition to powerful works expressing the artists' intentions—including pieces by a gourd artist who received the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award at the 50th All-Japan Aihyo-kai Exhibition held last June—six large-scale F50-sized (1167mm × 910mm) paintings by the Sayama City Artists Association will be specially exhibited in the 1st-floor Community Hall. On Sunday, June 28 at 1:00 PM, the Sayama City Artists Association will provide live commentary on the paintings. This session will reveal hidden stories, intricate techniques not easily noticed upon casual viewing, and insights into the artists' intentions and backgrounds, offering valuable tips for appreciating the works.
