The Sayama City Fire Brigade in Sayama City, Saitama Prefecture, representing the Sayama Iruma Branch, achieved a magnificent victory in the "35th Saitama Prefecture Firefighting Drill Competition (Pumper Truck Division)" held on July 4, 2026 (Sat.) at the Saitama Prefectural Firefighting School (Konosu City, Saitama Prefecture). The team that competed in this event was primarily composed of members from [4th Company, 1st Section], who won the "FY2025 17th Sayama City Fire Brigade Firefighting Drill Competition." Starting in earnest in April 2026, the competitors, instructors, and support members underwent rigorous training. Each member balanced their primary jobs and family responsibilities, repeatedly engaging in demanding drills during limited early morning, evening, and holiday hours. This victory is a testament not only to the exceptional firefighting skills of the competitors but also to the collective efforts and strong camaraderie of the instructors, support members, and the entire Sayama City Fire Brigade. Fueled by this success, the Sayama City Fire Brigade will continue to strive for further skill improvement and community-focused activities as a vital pillar of disaster prevention, safeguarding the safety and security of the region.

A Long-Cherished Goal Achieved! "We Became Number 1 in Saitama."

We, the Sayama City Fire Brigade, were able to win the pumper truck division of the 35th Saitama Prefecture Firefighting Drill Competition. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone in the local community and all related parties who have consistently understood and supported our fire brigade activities. This was our seventh appearance in the Saitama Prefecture Firefighting Drill Competition since our first participation in 1994. We have finally earned this honor, inheriting the skills and traditions built over many years by our predecessors. We once again express our deep respect and gratitude for the efforts of all past fire officers and brigade members. The competitors diligently continued their rigorous training during evenings and holidays, fitting it in between their work and family commitments. Today's result is a direct outcome of the individual efforts of each competitor, as well as the support from their families and workplaces, and the invaluable assistance from our senior brigade members and alumni who provided dedicated guidance. Inspired by this victory, we will apply the skills and unity forged in this drill to our actual firefighting and disaster response activities, and to our efforts to protect the safety and security of our local community even more than before.
