Sayama Citizen University, operated by Sayama City, will begin accepting applications for the 'College of Liberal Arts' on Friday, July 17, 2026. The university aims to create a 'cycle of learning' where citizens actively learn and apply their knowledge to community activities. From late September 2026 to July 2028, over two years, why not deepen your knowledge through diverse lectures and explore the potential of local society together with new friends?

Sayama Citizen University

Operated by Sayama City, Sayama Citizen University aims to cultivate human resources for urban development, establish systems to apply learning outcomes within the community, and foster personal fulfillment and connections through learning. In addition to the College of Liberal Arts, the university operates the Community Design Department (Trial), which aims to raise interest in urban development activities, cultivate leaders, and provide support.

The 'College of Liberal Arts' at Sayama Citizen University offers a curriculum designed to help citizens acquire broad liberal arts knowledge and deepen their understanding of societal challenges in the community. Through 'Fundamentals & Required Courses' taken by all participants and 'Elective Courses' where students choose from over 100 lecture options, the program aims to enhance civic and community capabilities.

Study Period: Late September 2026 – July 2028 (2 years)

Eligibility: ① Individuals aged 16 and over who reside, work, or study in Sayama City; ② Individuals aged 16 and over who support the university’s philosophy and wish to engage in community activities in Sayama City

Capacity: 70 participants (first-come, first-served)

Tuition: 12,500 yen per year (7,500 yen in August and 5,000 yen in April)
