Overview of the Newsletter Renewal

Machida City publishes its public newsletter, 'Koho Machida,' twice a month (on the 1st and 15th) to share information on municipal administration, events, and essential daily living details. To align with digital trends and diversifying information-gathering methods, the city is renewing the newsletter to create a more 'engaging' front page and a more 'readable' layout for all residents. This initiative aims to deliver municipal information more effectively to all generations, including younger people.

### Effective Date Starting from the June 1, 2026 issue.

### Main Changes

1. **Design Change for the Cover Title** The title will now be presented in both Japanese and English to ensure it is approachable for younger generations and foreign nationals. The color of the title will vary in each issue to match the theme color of the feature story.

2. **Layout Change for Announcement Pages** The layout will change from 3 columns to 4 columns. This adjustment ensures that when the PDF version of 'Koho Machida' is viewed on a smartphone, characters appear larger, making the articles easier to read.

3. **Consolidation of QR Codes** By creating dedicated pages that categorize articles, the city has reduced the number of QR codes scattered throughout the publication. This frees up space on the page and allows for better formatting, thereby improving overall readability.
