Yokohama Fruit Brewing has obtained an alcohol manufacturing license effective July 2, Reiwa 8 (2026), and will begin wine production in Minamiyamada, Tsuzuki-ku, Yokohama City.

Yokohama Fruit Brewing is a winery that primarily utilizes off-grade "Hamanashi" pears, which have been loved in Yokohama for many years, and Yokohama-grown grapes to create wines unique to this region.

While Yokohama is known as a port town, it is also an area where urban fringe agriculture still thrives. However, in recent years, it has faced many challenges, including a decrease in agricultural workers, the utilization of off-grade agricultural products, and the continuation of regional agriculture.

Yokohama Fruit Brewing will find new value in off-grade Hamanashi pears, which have not been fully utilized until now, and promote initiatives to circulate regional resources in the form of wine. We will also work to revitalize Yokohama's agriculture through collaboration with local farmers, companies, and municipalities.

Furthermore, our future plans include cultivating grapes on our own land, introducing a membership club, and establishing a restaurant using local ingredients, all activities that will be closely connected to the community.

This project was established by the Nakagawa Tokuseikai Social Welfare Corporation, which has been involved in regional welfare for many years. By linking welfare and the wine business, we aim to create new employment opportunities and establish a system for sustainable connections between agriculture and the community.

We will not imitate existing wine culture but will focus on creating wines that value unique quality and value rooted in the climate, history, and agricultural activities of Yokohama.

In the future, we aim to develop our wines into representative fruit wines of this city, naturally complementing Yokohama's food culture and festive occasions. Updates on our future activities will be posted on our website or social media, as listed below.
