<Background of the Campaign>
In recent years, due to the impact of nationwide heatwaves, even in Hakone, which has been popular as a summer resort, an increasing number of guests have begun to perceive "Hakone in summer as being hot." Therefore, we have been internally discussing ways to provide a "new cool experience" that allows guests to enjoy the summer in Hakone more comfortably and enjoyably, even during the heat.
Amidst these discussions about "campaigns to make summer in Hakone more comfortable and enjoyable," a proposal for "Cool Shampoo," originating from Yamagata Prefecture, was made by an employee. We believe that the cool and refreshing sensation of cool shampoo can offer guests a new cool experience in Hakone during the summer, leading to the implementation of this campaign.
Furthermore, the employee who made the proposal has relatives with ties to Yamagata Prefecture, which has blessed us with a connection to the region and led to the realization of this campaign.
In addition, we are also offering a fishing game for children.
What you'll catch, such as traditional Japanese snacks and single-use portions of cool shampoo, is a surprise.

"Cool Shampoo," a summer tradition of Yamagata's "cool culture"
"Cool Shampoo," born from the barber industry in Yamagata Prefecture, was devised by hairdressers in Yamagata about 20 years ago with the desire to help people spend hot summers more comfortably.
This new style, which involves chilling the shampoo in a refrigerator or with ice before use, became a topic of conversation and is now cherished as one of Yamagata's representative summer traditions.
The cool shampoo and cool conditioner being offered as gifts this time are limited summer items formulated with "Gassan Natural Water," selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Famous Waters, and "Cherry Extract" from Yamagata Prefecture.
By chilling and using them in a refrigerator or with ice, you can enjoy a pleasant cool sensation during the summer.
