Hada Seiko and Yoshikawa Seisakusho Machining World's First Intake Parts for JAXA's Space Engine

Hada Seiko and Yoshikawa Seisakusho, based in Shimane Prefecture, have successfully completed the high-precision processing of intake components for JAXA's 'Atmospheric Breathing Ion Engine Exchange (ABIE-X)'. This system is the world's first technology designed to collect rare atmospheric molecules in space for use as fuel. The companies overcame significant technical challenges including thin-walled cylindrical deformation and complex serrated shapes using specialized tools and local industrial research center support. These components are essential for the long-term operation of satellites in Very Low Earth Orbit (VLEO) and future planetary exploration missions.
