There is not just one form of challenge. That's why we have prepared 5 entry points.

The "Oita Startup Support Project" in Oita Prefecture offers 5 programs to accept diverse challenges, rather than narrowing down the entry point for challenges to just one. Through 5 programs tailored to each phase and inclination, including starting a business, new business development, family business transformation through business succession, intrapreneurship, social entrepreneurship, and further growth acceleration, we support the creation of new regional value.

1. Oita New Business Discovery & Incubation Project "OITA ZERO ICHI"

To promote the creation of new businesses by small and medium-sized enterprises, we will hold a business plan contest aimed at discovering and selecting SMEs that aim to start a business or enter new fields by utilizing original products, know-how, and ideas.

Target: SMEs planning to start a business or those less than 10 years since starting, and SMEs aiming to enter new fields. Application Period: Until November 24, 2026 (Tue) Details: https://oita01-2026.jp/

2. Heir Venture Creation Support Project "GUSH!"

We will implement a program that intensively supports heirs in the prefecture in fostering a mindset for transforming their family businesses, such as developing new businesses and entering new fields, and building business models.

Target: Heirs who have their headquarters in the prefecture and are either before business succession or within 5 years after business succession. Application Period: Until August 2, 2026 (Sun) Details: https://gush-oita.com/

3. Intrapreneur Creation Support Project "OITA INTRAPRENEUR ACADEMY" [NEW]

To strengthen the growth foundation of companies in the prefecture and boost the regional economy as a whole, we will support the development of management personnel "intrapreneurs" who create new businesses and innovations from within companies, as well as the formulation of new business plans.

Target: Executives and employees of companies registered with their head office or a branch in the prefecture, who are considering new businesses. Application Period: Until August 7, 2026 (Fri) Details: https://oita-intra-academy.jp/

4. Social Entrepreneur Creation Support Project "SHIFT" [NEW]

We will support entrepreneurs who are working to solve regional social issues using business methods, by assisting them in establishing business models, fundraising, and business expansion for growth acceleration.

Target: Entrepreneurs residing in the prefecture who are interested in solving social issues (including those planning to start a business). Application Period: Until August 9, 2026 (Sun) Details: https://shift-oita.com/

5. Growth-Oriented Entrepreneur Incubation Support Project "LEAD"

We will select promising entrepreneurs in the prefecture with a high growth orientation and provide comprehensive and intensive support for accelerating their growth, such as acquiring sales channels, improving recognition, fundraising, and improving production efficiency.

Target: Companies registered with their head office or a branch in the prefecture. Application Period: Until August 20, 2026 (Thu) Details: https://lead-oita.studio.site/

Challenges range from the initial stage of shaping ideas to the growth phase of advancing businesses to the next level.

In addition to the 5 programs being recruited this time, Oita Prefecture also offers startup consultations and various seminars through the Oita Startup Center, providing a supportive environment tailored to the stage of challenge. We continuously support regional challenges, from the idea stage to commercialization, new business development, growth of social issue-solving businesses, and expansion of sales channels and improvement of recognition.

Each challenge born in the region not only becomes a seed for new industries but also leads to the resolution of regional issues and the development of the next generation of leaders.
