Shiretoko Diving Planning Co., Ltd., the only diving operator in the town, is holding a monitor tour for cleanup dives to collect underwater trash with support from the Ministry of the Environment (Hokkaido Region Reiwa Water and Sea Creation Regional Support Project), and is currently recruiting participants. In the seas of Shiretoko, a wide variety of creatures live through a food web based on the blessings brought by drift ice. The richness of the sea was highly evaluated when it was registered as a World Natural Heritage site.
