Two Days to Fully Enjoy Nishiwaga's Summer (July 18-19)

Nishiwaga Town, Iwate Prefecture, will host three events over two days, July 18 (Sat.) and 19 (Sun.): "Nishiwaga Beer Fest 2026," "Nishiwaga Woodlife Fest," and "Kinshukoko Otaki Summer Light Festival in Nishiwaga."

* "Kinshukoko Otaki Summer Light Festival in Nishiwaga" will be held on July 18 (Sat.) only.

Enjoy craft beer, experience the warmth of wood, and be enveloped in a magical light-up at night.

It's a summer weekend where you can simultaneously enjoy the charms of Nishiwaga's nature, food, and craftsmanship.

1 Nishiwaga Beer Fest 2026

"Cheers with Craft Beer!!"

Craft beers from various regions, including Helios Distillery in Nishiwaga Town, as well as from Iwate, Akita, and Okinawa, will gather.

Many food stalls offering pairings for beer and local delicacies will also be present, allowing you to enjoy tasting different beers.

2 Nishiwaga Woodlife Fest

"Love Wood, Become a Fan of Wood!"

This popular festival will be held again this year in Nishiwaga Town, surrounded by the blessings of the forest.

It's packed with programs where everyone from children to adults can enjoy the appeal of wood with all five senses, including wooden toys, woodworking experiences, and playing with familiar plants and trees.

It's an event to touch wood, smell its fragrance, and rediscover the "goodness of wood" in our daily lives.

3 Kinshukoko Otaki Summer Light Festival in Nishiwaga

"Enjoy Kinshukoko Otaki Day and Night"

Held at Kinshukoko Otaki, which has been certified as a Japan Night View Heritage (Light-up Night View Heritage) as a dam facility.

During the day, you can enjoy experiences such as walking behind the waterfall, fishing, and riding a high-altitude work vehicle. At night, you can admire the magical light-up.

Visitors will also receive a free sediment dam card.

By holding these three events on the same day, we hope that people will feel that "Nishiwaga's summer is interesting" and that many will become "fans of the town."

During the day, enjoy interacting with friends over craft beer, rediscover the "goodness of wood" in your daily life, and at night, fully enjoy the magical scenery of the illuminated Kinshukoko Otaki.

We expect that the collaboration between these events will lead to extended stays and increased travel within the town.

We will continue to work on creating new tourism attractions by combining regional resources, aiming to expand the number of visitors and revitalize the region.
