Kisui is a robotics startup originating from Tohoku University. CEO Tamir Blum studied aerospace engineering at UCLA, was involved in the development of SpaceX's Crew Dragon, and subsequently conducted research on lunar exploration robots and AI/autonomous driving technology in the doctoral program at Tohoku University. Based on this space robotics and AI technology, Kisui is developing autonomous mobile robots that operate in harsh outdoor environments such as farmlands and rough terrain.
Its flagship product, "Adam," is an off-road autonomous mobile platform designed for diverse applications in outdoor industries facing severe labor shortages and work burdens, including orchards, fields, and construction sites, for tasks such as transportation, patrolling, data collection, weeding, and spraying.
In 2025, a total of 14 Adam units will be delivered domestically and internationally, with deployments for practical use progressing, primarily in agricultural settings.
Background of Funding
In Japan's outdoor industries such as agriculture, construction, and infrastructure, the declining working population, aging demographics, and increasing workload represent significant social challenges. However, outdoor environments, with their uneven ground, slopes, mud, vegetation, and weather changes, are extremely difficult areas for robot automation compared to indoor factories and warehouses.
Kisui specializes in this challenging domain of "outdoors and rough terrain," developing integrated robotics technology encompassing hardware, AI, software, and on-site implementation.
This round saw participation from domestic financial CVCs, manufacturing partners, decarbonization-related funds, individual investors, and DLM, a manufacturing company from Indonesia. In collaboration with DLM, Kisui is proceeding with the establishment of local production, assembly, and supply systems with an eye toward expansion into the Southeast Asian market. Based on Japanese robotics technology, design and development, and quality control, Kisui will promote the social implementation of automation solutions for outdoor industries worldwide.

DLM is very pleased to further expand our partnership with Kisui through this funding round. Utilizing our Factory 4.0-compliant facilities, we will support the establishment of assembly and supply systems for Adam for the Southeast Asian market. DLM looks forward to building the future of agriculture together with Kisui as its strategic partner for the Indonesian market.
*Original comment: Empowering Autonomous Agriculture in Southeast Asia. DLM is thrilled to expand our partnership with Kisui through this financing round. Our Factory 4.0 facilities now handle final assembly for the Adam AI robot/vehicle, enabling global scale. DLM serves as Kisui’s strategic gateway to Indonesia. Let’s build the future of agriculture together.
Mitsubishi UFJ Capital Co., Ltd. Investment Department 3, Assistant Manager, Kei Tsukiji
Kisui, originating from the lunar exploration rover and AI technology developed by founder Mr. Blum, is directly addressing the social issues of aging farmers and labor shortages in agriculture through its autonomous AI robot "Adam," making on-site deployment a tangible reality. We have invested with the expectation that Kisui will accelerate the resolution of structural issues in agriculture. We believe that the Kisui team can overcome the highly challenging tasks required for social implementation. Leveraging the strengths of MUFG, we will support their business development.
Shin-Nichi Kogyo Co., Ltd. President and Representative Director, Yusuke Kinoshita
Our company is a specialized manufacturer of large-diameter thin-walled steel pipes. Our products, such as pipes, are used in exhaust systems for agricultural machinery, auger pipes for combines, and heat exchange tubes for vinyl houses, indirectly supporting agriculture. We are very excited to have encountered Kisui, a company with the potential to bring significant innovation to agriculture through its strong management team and unique technology. We are committed to fully supporting Kisui as a team member to contribute to the development of agriculture through their growth.
Individual Investor Tsuyoshi Hosoba
I believe Kisui's outdoor autonomous mobile robot is a technology with great potential in fields facing severe labor shortages, such as agriculture, construction, and infrastructure. As a robotics company originating from Japan, I look forward to its future domestic and international expansion.
Japan Green Investment Corporation Executive Officer, General Manager of Business Promotion Department 1 (Head of Startups) Yoshitaka Fukui
We are delighted to participate in the investment in Kisui Inc., a Tohoku University-originated company that has developed an agricultural autonomous mobile robot capable of stable travel on rough terrain through its unique suspension and AI-based route planning, inspired by the development of lunar exploration robots. I am amazed to see the mock-up I first visited in the lab three and a half years ago now commercialized and being used to alleviate the burden on agricultural workers and even being utilized overseas. We expect that Kisui Inc.'s business expansion will promote the reduction of greenhouse gases in the agricultural sector, alleviate the burden on agricultural workers worldwide, and foster the fusion of hardware and software technologies.
The Japan Green Investment Corporation will actively provide funding to catalyze diverse businesses that contribute to decarbonization, aiming for the realization of carbon neutrality by 2050.
Kisui Inc. Founder, CEO Tamir Blum
We are extremely pleased to have had strategic partners, financial CVCs, decarbonization funds, manufacturing partners, and individual investors participate in this round.
What Kisui is tackling is not just the development of agricultural machinery. We are challenging major social issues in outdoor industries such as labor shortages, heavy labor, decarbonization, and regional sustainability by utilizing AI and robotics.
In recent years, AI technologies, including generative AI, have been rapidly evolving, but the implementation of "Physical AI" that actually moves, works, and supports people in the real world has just begun. Based on Japanese manufacturing and robotics technology, we aim to realize the industrialization of robots in outdoor industries such as agriculture, construction, and infrastructure.
Through this funding, we will further strengthen Adam's mass production, quality improvement, and domestic/international deployment support systems, aiming to become an outdoor automation platform that expands from Japan to the world.
