Comfortable Temperature Under 25°C Campaign

This summer, as part of the "Cool Kushiro Business Project," we will implement the "Comfortable Temperature U-25°C Campaign" in cooperation with the "Kushiro Robata Society" and the "Hokkaido Social and Food Service Hygiene Cooperative Association Kushiro Branch."

Amidst the ongoing nationwide heatwaves, this campaign aims to establish a new lifestyle of "spending the summer in cool Kushiro." During the campaign period, tourists from outside Hokkaido and other visitors will receive one free draft beer or other eligible drink at participating restaurants in the city by saying the password "I saw 'Cool Stay Kushiro'!" on days when the maximum temperature is 25°C or below.

July 10, 2026 (Fri) - August 10, 2026 (Mon)

Campaign Conditions

Benefits will be provided on days when Kushiro City's maximum temperature is 25°C or below.

- Temperatures will be based on the Japan Meteorological Agency's "Kushiro Observatory" readings.

- The maximum temperature will be determined by readings taken by 2 PM on the day.

- The maximum temperature and whether it is an eligible day will be announced on the observatory's website around 2 PM daily during the campaign.

Eligible Participants

Customers from outside Hokkaido AND customers who say the password "I saw 'Cool Stay Kushiro'!".

- The method for confirming residency and the presence of the password will be left to the discretion of each restaurant.

Benefit Details

One free draft beer (other beverages, soft drinks, etc., may also be offered).

- Cannot be combined with other coupons or offers.

- Detailed conditions will be set by each restaurant (please check the special website and in-store).

- A special page will be created on the Kushiro Chamber of Commerce and Industry website.

- Temperatures will be checked daily at 2 PM, and information on whether the campaign is being held that day and participating stores will be disseminated.

Predicted Campaign Dates

Of the 32 days from July 10 to August 10, the number of campaign days with a maximum temperature below 25°C was 22 days in 2023, 25 days in 2024, and 19 days in 2025, meaning approximately 60% of the days are campaign days.

Please also pay attention to this summer's maximum temperatures.

*July 23-25, 2025 saw three consecutive days exceeding 30°C (the first time since statistics began in 1910).

As part of the "Cool Kushiro Business Project," the Kushiro Chamber of Commerce and Industry released a web video last year titled "Cool Stay Kushiro," which expresses Kushiro's summer coolness using 1980s city pop-style music and karaoke visuals to widely promote Kushiro's coolness during the summer. The video has been well-received, with over 240,000 views on YouTube.

The password for this campaign is "I saw 'Cool Stay Kushiro'!".
