Shinkamigoto Town will host the '4th Yoka-Toko! Fishing Project in Kamigoto 2026' on October 11, 2026 (Sunday).

This event aims to allow participants to experience the joy of fishing in nature, while also raising awareness of fishing manners and environmental conservation at Aokata Port, a port designated as a 'Fishing Culture Promotion Model Port'.

For this fourth installment, in addition to popular video creators 'Tsuri Yoka Deshou' (1.75 million YouTube subscribers), who serve as Shinkamigoto Town's Fishing Tourism Ambassadors, comedian Taku Suzuki of the comedy duo 'Drunk Dragon' will participate to liven up the tournament.

Lunch will feature the local specialty 'Goto Udon,' and a social gathering utilizing fresh seafood from Shinkamigoto Town will be held after the tournament, allowing participants to experience the unique 'food' culture of the island.

The tournament is designed to be enjoyed by everyone from beginners to veterans.

- Fishing tournament based at 'Aokata Port,' a Fishing Culture Promotion Model Port Shinkamigoto Town, an island municipality in Nagasaki Prefecture, is surrounded by a rich sea and is a popular fishing spot visited by many anglers from across the country. The venue, 'Aokata Port,' was designated as a 'Fishing Culture Promotion Model Port' by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in 2022, and features the first offshore breakwater fishing facility in Japan. This event aims to allow a wide range of people, from beginners to veterans, to enjoy fishing and to contribute to the sustainable development of fishing culture.

- Promoting regional appeal and environmental conservation In addition to the fishing tournament, the event will include cleaning activities. Furthermore, after the tournament, a 15-second fishing etiquette awareness commercial will be produced and broadcast on terrestrial television within Nagasaki Prefecture. This ensures the event is not just a one-time occurrence, but leads to continuous improvement in fishing etiquette awareness. There are also plans to produce a sequel to last year's broadcast, 'Taku Suzuki vs. Tsuri Yoka Deshou: Fishing Bingo Great Battle!', which will be aired on Nagasaki Culture Broadcasting (NCC). We will also share the charm of Shinkamigoto Town's nature, food, and fishing culture with participants from both on and off the island.
