Glasses Take Center Stage: Special Wedding Program Challenges Conventions in Nagasaki

Nagasaki Bunka Broadcasting Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nagasaki City, Nagasaki Prefecture; President and CEO: Hiromi Onishi; hereinafter NCC) will produce and broadcast another special program in 2026, following the success of 'Shimazaki Haruka: I Don’t Want to Get Married, Is That Okay?' (aired January 6, 2024) and 'MINA Wants to Marry an Electric Bass' (aired March 28, 2025), with the goal of energizing the bridal industry.

This year’s theme centers on eyeglasses. The program aims to address common concerns among glasses-wearing women—such as 'dresses don’t suit me' or 'photos don’t turn out well'—while highlighting the charm and joy of marriage and wedding ceremonies.

The program stars popular actress Kasumi Hasegawa, known for her signature glasses persona.

The theme song will be 'Chikau' (I Vow), an unreleased track by singer-songwriter Kanau Matsumura, whose artistic journey began after a high school field trip to Nagasaki Prefecture went viral on social media.

After its terrestrial broadcast, the program will be available via catch-up streaming on platforms such as TVer, ABEMA, and TV Asahi Video, allowing viewers outside Nagasaki Prefecture to enjoy it as well.
