Gajoen Tokyo

[July 8, 2026] Gajoen Tokyo (Meguro-ku, Tokyo; General Manager: Hiroaki Shimamune) will begin accepting accommodation reservations on its official hotel website today, in preparation for its reopening on July 27, 2026 (Mon).

The spirit of art, aesthetics, and hospitality that has been passed down since the company's founding in 1928 as "Shibaura Gajoen," "Meguro Gajoen," and "Hotel Gajoen Tokyo." While inheriting this rich legacy, preparations are underway to elevate it to an experience that meets the demands of modern luxury travelers. The hotel will first open as "Gajoen Tokyo" on July 27 (Mon), and by the end of this year, it will enter a new chapter as "Gajoen Tokyo LXR Hotels & Resorts."

The hotel is conveniently located a 3-minute walk from the West Exit of Meguro Station, where JR Yamanote Line, Tokyu Meguro Line, Tokyo Metro Namboku Line, and Toei Mita Line converge. Nearby are the Meguro River, known for its approximately 800 cherry trees, and Meguro Fudoson (Ryuusenji Temple), which has attracted worshippers since the Edo period, making it an area rich in history and culture. This location, where traditions dating back to the Edo period, the nature of the four seasons, and contemporary Tokyo culture intersect, is a charming area where one can feel close to Japanese culture and atmosphere.

From the 6th to the 8th floor of the hotel, there are a total of 60 guest rooms. All rooms offer a spacious area of 70 square meters or more, with unique designs for each room, featuring a setup that reflects the spirit of a tea room and Japanese aesthetics. The spatial composition, where guest rooms are likened to tea rooms and corridors and elevator halls to tea gardens, allows guests to experience a single narrative throughout the hotel. The spaces, incorporating Japanese traditional crafts and art such as persimmon tannin dyeing, Nishijin weaving, and Japanese paintings, create a stay full of Japanese relaxation and dignity while valuing the beauty of tranquility and emptiness.

The Gajoen Suite (240 sqm) is a signature residential-style suite that offers a sense of Japanese tranquility, with a separate bedroom, living room, and dining space. As a room symbolizing Gajoen's aesthetic worldview, it provides a relaxing and sophisticated stay experience like a spacious residence.

The Japanese-style Premium Room (80 sqm) is equipped with a tatami-floored bedroom, an adjoining room, and a veranda. The scent of rush grass and a single flower arrangement of seasonal flowers create a serene atmosphere, offering a space where one can feel the beauty of Japanese living arrangements. From the veranda by the window, guests can spend their time as they wish while gazing at the garden.

At the "Arrival Lounge" for hotel guests on the 1st floor, guests will be welcomed into a refreshing space that evokes the aroma of freshly brewed tea, with the scent of real tea leaves used for its ambiance. Guests can enjoy tea and Japanese sweets on the comfortably spaced sofas while completing check-in procedures in a relaxed atmosphere. This moment of experiencing Japanese hospitality through the five senses foreshadows the beginning of a fulfilling stay. In addition to check-in and check-out procedures, the lounge staff will provide meticulous support for each guest's stay, including restaurant reservations and sightseeing guidance.

"Tofutei," a Japanese restaurant located at the end of an approach paved with crushed gravel, is a purely Japanese-style building with a thatched roof and eight private rooms. Guests can enjoy the delicate flavors of the four seasons while admiring exquisite crafts and being surrounded by the greenery of the garden and the murmuring of the river. "Shunyuki" will be open from Wednesday to Sunday (closed Mondays and Tuesdays), and "Tofutei" will be open from Friday to Tuesday (closed Wednesdays and Thursdays), serving lunch and dinner.

In the open and sunlit "Kanade Lounge," guests can enjoy a relaxing time with light meals, seasonal sweets, and drinks. Both spaces offer a time to refresh the mind while enjoying the garden, which changes its appearance with each season.

Gajoen, where art and beauty reside and stories have been spun through time. The culture cultivated through layers of history is inherited as a living culture that continues to evolve. The hotel will first open as "Gajoen Tokyo" on July 27 (Mon), and after renovations and the addition of a fitness gym, it will enter a new chapter as "Gajoen Tokyo LXR Hotels & Resorts" by the end of this year. While respecting its past achievements, we will spin a new story that continues into the next era.
