Metropolitan Intercity Railway Company (CEO: Ryo Watanabe, Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), which operates Tsukuba Express (TX), aims to provide more convenient and comfortable services by responding to diversifying customer needs with the introduction of a QR ticket system on October 1, 2026 (Thu).

As part of this initiative, we will be discontinuing the sale of the "TX Tokyo Metro Pass" and "TOKYO Exploration Ticket" on September 30, 2026 (Wed) in preparation for the digitalization of tickets.

We will continue to consider services that will be even more convenient for our customers.

Details are as follows:

1. Discount Tickets to be Discontinued

"TX Tokyo Metro Pass"

A ticket that combines a round-trip discount ticket for the Tsukuba Express line and a Tokyo Metro 1-day pass.

* Valid for one round trip between the TX line sales station and Kita-Senju Station. * Unlimited rides between Kita-Senju Station and Akihabara Station for one day.

TX Tokyo Metro Pass

"TOKYO Exploration Ticket"

A ticket that combines a round-trip discount ticket between each station on the Tsukuba Express line and Shin-Okachimachi Station, and a 1-day pass for all Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation lines (Toei Subway, Toei Bus, Toden, Nippori-Toneri Liner).

* Valid for one round trip between the TX line sales station and Shin-Okachimachi Station.

2. Last Day of Sale: After the last train on September 30, 2026 (Wed)

We are considering the introduction of digital tickets that can be purchased on smartphones, etc., for discount tickets (special passes). We will provide further details once they are decided.
