Shutoko Maintenance Kanagawa Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, President: Chiro Okada) has partnered with WILLTEX Inc. (Headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture), a company aiming to solve social issues through temperature control. Their joint research and development proposal for "Research and Development of Cooling Vests for Firefighting Activities" under the "Tokyo Fire Department INNOVATION PROJECT" has been adopted, featuring a special cooling technology utilizing "wearable special low-temperature cold packs."

Furthermore, leveraging this special cooling technology as its core, we have formed an alliance with Sato Sangyo Co., Ltd. (Nikke Group) and Marusa Co., Ltd. (Toray Group), professionals in textiles and manufacturing, to launch the next-generation cooling project "WILL-ICETECH Advance."

This project is a powerful corporate alliance formed with key companies supporting positions in their respective industries. To widely disseminate the latest cooling solutions that combine the strengths of these four companies, we have decided to jointly exhibit at the "12th Tokyo Extreme Heat Countermeasures Exhibition" (Tokyo Big Sight) to be held in July 2026.

Regarding Adoption for Joint Research with the Tokyo Fire Department

In recent years, the number of emergency transports due to heatstroke during Japanese summers has been on a continuous rise, making the safety of field workers a critical issue. The adoption of research and development for "cooling vests for firefighting activities" utilizing special cooling technology aims to enhance heat countermeasures in firefighting operations by incorporating the expertise of the Tokyo Fire Department.

Notably, the special cooling technology utilized in this joint research and development is a common technology also employed in the special low-temperature cold pack products developed by the alliance companies.

Regarding Joint Exhibition at the "12th Tokyo Extreme Heat Countermeasures Exhibition"

At the joint exhibition booth, in addition to explanations of the cutting-edge technology related to the joint research with the Tokyo Fire Department, we will unveil and display actual examples of the following three products developed by each company. A demonstration area will be available for visitors and media representatives to experience the cooling performance firsthand by actually wearing the products.

Exhibited Products and Participating Companies

"FROZEN CORE®"

Wearable Cold Pack "FROZEN CORE"

Developed by: Sato Sangyo Co., Ltd. (Nikke Group)

Offers a 2-way special low-temperature cold pack that can switch between 0°C (instant cooling) and 5°C (sustained cooling), along with stretch mesh wear (available in 4 sizes). It is suitable for a wide range of applications, from construction and logistics sites to schools, club activities, and daily use.

"WONDER ICE®"

"WONDER ICE" featuring Toray's unique "Summer Shield®" three-layer fabric

Developed by: Marusa Co., Ltd. (Toray Group)

Toray's unique "Summer Shield®" three-layer fabric is used in the cold pack pocket. This high-performance material, with heat shielding of -4°C or higher, 99.99% light-shielding rate, and 99% UV cut rate, blocks external air and dramatically improves the cooling duration of the proprietary 19-layer structure cold pack.

"ICE ARMOR®"

"ICE ARMOR" - The Ice Armor You Wear

Total Sales Agent: Shutoko Maintenance Kanagawa Co., Ltd. (Shutoko Group)

Manufacturing Planning: WILLTEX Inc.

"The Ice Armor You Wear" boasts the industry's largest cooling area (25cm x 25cm). Its unique technology, where a non-polymer liquid circulates internally to absorb heat, achieves stable cooling for up to approximately 8 hours. It supports safety assurance in harsh environments under the blazing sun, such as the maintenance and management of the Shutoko Expressway.
