About Kagoshima University Open Courses
Kagoshima University (Location: Kagoshima City, Kagoshima Prefecture; hereinafter referred to as "the University") will hold its second-half term open courses for the 2026 academic year with the aim of providing learning opportunities to everyone and revitalizing classes through the participation of local residents.
Open courses are an initiative to open a portion of the lectures and seminars for students, taught by Kagoshima University faculty, to local residents. As of July 6, there are 75 courses available. Participants can take advanced, systematic, and cutting-edge content ranging from introductory to specialized subjects.
Classes are primarily in-person, but some courses will be offered remotely (※) or in a hybrid format combining both. The format and delivery of classes may change due to academic or other reasons.
(※) Remote classes are those taken using a computer from home or another location. They include on-demand (video-based) and real-time live streaming classes.
Students who attend more than 2/3 of the class sessions will receive a certificate of completion for the open course. However, credits will not be awarded.
