Currently, the first-floor café is operating ahead of schedule, while preparations are underway for the second-floor shop to open in late August 2026.

About Asayu Store Cafe

'Asayu Store Cafe' is a physical retail space operated by 'Asayu Japan,' a Japanese tea brand targeting overseas markets. The concept is 'Experiencing Japan with All Five Senses.' What we aim to deliver goes beyond just a cup of matcha. It is an immersive experience where guests can fully appreciate the charm of Japan through all five senses—the ambiance of the machiya townhouse, the tactile feel of the tea utensils, and the aroma and taste of freshly prepared matcha. English menus are available, ensuring both domestic guests and international visitors to Kyoto can enjoy the café with ease.

First Floor: Café (Currently Operating)

The first-floor café has already commenced operations. Guests can enjoy drink offerings such as matcha lattes both for in-store consumption and takeaway.

Second Floor: Shop (In Preparation)

On the second floor, preparations are underway for a shop offering a curated selection of matcha and Japanese tea, as well as tea utensils and traditional Japanese crafts. The shop is scheduled to open alongside the grand opening in late August 2026.
