June 25 is "Day of the Seafarer" established by the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
In this initiative, the "LED Ad Cruise" will operate under the project name "Seafarer's Day" boat, broadcasting messages of gratitude and support for seafarers received from across the country from Osaka's Dotonbori River.
Our daily lives and industries depend on the seafarers who support maritime transport every day. However, the work of seafarers is rarely seen in daily life, and its importance and social value are not sufficiently recognized.
AIS is promoting the "June 25 is Seafarer's Day. Japan Establishment Project" with the aim of shedding light on this "invisible work" and spreading gratitude and respect for seafarers throughout society.
From the bustling streets of Dotonbori, we will deliver feelings of gratitude in a "visible form" to the seafarers who support maritime transport and to society as a whole.

What is Day of the Seafarer?
It is an international commemorative day established on June 25, the adoption date of the Manila amendments to the STCW Convention in 2010, under the framework of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
Its purpose is to recognize the contribution of seafarers who support global maritime transport and to spread understanding and appreciation of their importance throughout society.
We hope this initiative will help raise awareness of "Day of the Seafarer" on June 25 and deepen understanding of the work of seafarers and the shipping industry.
