Amidst the escalating humanitarian crisis in Lebanon triggered by the ongoing conflict, AAR Japan has initiated a summer fundraising campaign. Over 3,000 casualties have been reported and more than 1.2 million people displaced. The conflict has caused economic deterioration, with skyrocketing food and fuel prices pushing people into extreme conditions. Evacuation shelters, often lacking cooking facilities, struggle to secure adequate food. In response, AAR is collaborating with local partner ShareQ to deliver safe and nutritionally balanced food to IDPs in shelters, prioritizing the elderly, people with disabilities, and families with infants. ShareQ, active since 2012, distributes these meals on behalf of AAR due to security risks preventing direct access. AAR emphasizes the importance of showing that compassion still exists even in darkness, urging support for their campaign which funds aid activities across 17 countries.
