ABEJA Inc., which aims to 'implement a prosperous world' through the collaboration of humans and AI, announced that its proposal for the 'Development of an Industry-Specific AI Agent' was selected for the 'Post-5G Information and Communication System Infrastructure Enhancement Research and Development Project / Development of Competitive Generative AI Foundation Models (GENIAC),' publicly invited by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO).

Participating for the fourth consecutive term since the first phase, ABEJA will collaborate with IDOM Inc., a major used-car retailer operating the 'Gulliver' brand across approximately 498 stores nationwide, to build an AI agent specialized in automotive maintenance.

The automotive maintenance industry is a major sector with a total maintenance revenue of 6.6592 trillion yen. However, it faces challenges such as severe labor shortages, an aging workforce of mechanics, and increased difficulty in maintenance due to the spread of EVs and ADAS, leading to declining productivity. Through this initiative, ABEJA will utilize data accumulated by IDOM, such as repair performance and inspection standards, to build an 'Automotive Maintenance Industry-Specific AI Agent' with enhanced ToolUse and multi-stage reasoning capabilities.
