ABEMA to Host Three-Week Free Marathon Broadcast of Popular Anime 'Magi' Series, Featuring First-Ever Free Broadcast of 'Magi: Adventure of Sinbad'

The 'new future of television' platform ABEMA will host a three-week free marathon broadcast of the popular magical fantasy series 'Magi,' starting Saturday, June 6, 2026.

'Magi' is based on the popular manga by Shinobu Ohtaka, serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday (Shogakukan). It tells the story of Aladdin and Alibaba, who embark on adventures with companions to seek hidden treasures within mysterious dungeons that have suddenly appeared around the world. Known for its grand worldview and compelling story involving magic, battles, and friendship, the series' first and second seasons were broadcast in 2012 and 2013. The spin-off, 'Magi: Adventure of Sinbad,' which depicts the adventures of a younger Sinbad, has also been beloved by many fans.

In this newly announced free marathon project, the first season of 'Magi' will be broadcast starting June 6 (Sat), the second season starting June 13 (Sat), and 'Magi: Adventure of Sinbad' starting June 20 (Sat). All broadcast episodes will be available for free for one week after their respective airings. Notably, this will be the first time 'Magi: Adventure of Sinbad' is available on ABEMA and its first free broadcast on the platform.
