UNIS, a global girls group based in Korea, born from the exclusive audition program "UNIVERSE TICKET" broadcast on the new future TV "ABEMA (Abeema)", will release their Japan 1st Mini Album "UNI☆Sparkle!" on July 31, 2026 (Fri). Prior to this, the lead single "Gimme Summer" will be pre-released starting at 0:00 on July 17, 2026 (Fri).
UNIS is a next-generation K-POP group born from "UNIVERSE TICKET", the first girls group audition program handled by SBS, one of Korea's three major terrestrial broadcasters. They officially debuted in March 2024 and have won numerous awards, including the Rookie of the Year, in a short period of time. They are attracting attention as a leading figure of the 5th generation of K-POP.
The group consists of 8 members: Nana and Kotoko from Japan, Zelly Danka and Elisha from the Philippines, and Jin Hyeonju, Bang Yuna, Oh Yuna, and Im Sowon from Korea. The diverse and international composition of the members is one of the major attractions of UNIS.
This time, the Japan 1st Mini Album "UNI☆Sparkle!" to be released on July 31 (Fri) is a work themed on Japan's "Cute" Heisei culture, with the concept of "A Japan 1st Mini Album filled with the sparkling brilliance of UNIS." It includes the refreshing synth-pop and highly addictive beat summer upbeat tune "Gimme Summer," as well as the Japan 1st single "Moshimoshi♡" provided by HoneyWorks, the Japan 2nd single "Don't Be Happy" provided by Korezawa, and "SWICY - Japanese ver." for a total of 5 tracks. It is a mini-album that captures the new charm of UNIS, their first in Japan.
Additionally, the lead single "Gimme Summer," which will begin pre-release at 0:00 on July 17 (Fri), is UNIS's first summer song that depicts the "The Adolescence!" summer thrills and sorrows of girls busy with love and friendship in a life-size manner. The lyrics and composition are handled by a luxurious tag team of Kanaoka Kanata, who has provided songs to numerous popular artists such as BTS and M!LK, and Carlos K., who has worked on "Koi Kaze" by Ikuya Rira, among others. It has been completed as a refreshing summer pop tune with a refined beat and emotional synth.
Furthermore, the choreography is handled by Maihata Sasako, a choreographer known for dances that have become topics on SNS such as "Isn't it enough to be cute?" and "I like you too much to die!" Please also pay attention to the catchy dance that you will want to imitate. The music video is scheduled to be released on the same day, July 17 (Fri) at 19:00.
